Choose the professional brand, girl!

Using professional products isn’t just a gimmick!

There are so many benefits to using professional brands and it only takes a couple washes to truly see the difference!

This topic is near & dear to my heart so I’m going to try to give you as many facts as I can in one blog.

1. Professional brand products have a higher reputation to uphold so they ensure they’re only using the best concentrated ingredients. Drug store brands will “water down” their main concentrates in order for them to cut costs in production, which is why they’re cheaper in price. Cheaper products means cheaper ingredients.

2. A “bigger name” means more liability behind it. Products made for professionals are most of the time made with the help of professionals so they can ensure they actually work how they’re suppose to! A professional stylists biggest job is to use what they feel IS the BEST products for their guests. 9 times out of 10 a stylist will recommend the products that they themselves use on a daily basis! Would you buy a new car from a doctor or a car salesmen?

3. With those added liabilities, it also causes them to watch closely at what they put inside of their products. This means softer cleansing agents, more skin-protective lathering agents, & environmentally safe ingredients. Someone looking to make a cheap product isn’t going to look twice at a better and higher priced ingredient. To keep costs low, they settle for keeping the materials cheap. This also includes environmentally safe packaging.

4. In another effort to cut costs on high-grade ingredients, they will fill their products with fillers. This includes things such as silicone, which will make the hair appear “silky & shiny” but really all its doing Is putting a waxy build-up on top of the hair. This gives it a plastic-like barrier on the hair strand that is ultimately acting as a water and air sealant that will not allow the hair to properly be cleansed and breathe.

5. Professional products may be more expensive but they actually will last you LONGER. Because they don’t dilute their key ingredients, a smaller amount of product is needed. Instead of using a whole handful of Herbal Essence, you could use a true quarter size amount of Redken.

I could go on and on until the end of time about the benefits of professional products but hopefully these key points make you think and give them a try. Professional products don’t always have to break the bank! Get on the Ulta email list and watch for the sales on your favorite brands. Holidays are also a really good time to stock up because they have the best sales! Lastly, use your coupons wisely and save yourself some money!
